    中国水利水电建设取得了举世瞩目的成就，走在了世界的前列。作为中国江河治理和水电资源开发的主要力量，中国水利水电建设集团公司自二十世纪五十年代以来，特别是改革开放以来，始终站在中国水利水电建设的最前沿，站在中国水利水电建设技术创新的最前沿，站在中国水利水电建设体制改革的最前沿，站在中国水利水电建设与国际接轨的最前沿，在传统与现代、人文与自然、物质与精神的交织、碰撞、融合中，付出了艰辛的劳动，经受了严峻的考验，获得了持续快速发展，为中国水利水电建设事业做出了突出的贡献。与此同时，中国水电集团以特有的开放姿态，放眼世界，成功地走出国门，昂首进入国际市场，在世界50多个国家和地区进行工程承包建设、经济技术合作及投资经营活动，在国际上树立起“中国水电建设第一品牌”的良好形象，成为中国水利水电及相关产业走向世界的排头兵。更为可贵的是，这些建设者在时代的嬗变中经历了思想、观念、情感的冲击、震荡和重塑，创造了丰富的精神财富，形成了独具特色的企业文化。

Opening Address

    China has now attracted the attention of the whole world for her great achievements and leading position in water and hydropower engineering and construction. As China’s major and well-equipped force in harnessing rivers and exploiting their energy potential, Sinohydro Corporation (SINOHYDRO in short) has, since its establishment in 1950s, especially after the implementation of China’s open-door policy, always been playing a leading role in China for water and hydropower engineering and construction, technical innovation, and international business cooperation. During its half-a-century’s practice, Sinohydro overcame tremendous hardship through its collective wisdom, devotion and diligence, achieved extraordinary development during the exchange, collision and fusion between the classical and the modern, the socio-cultural and the natural, and the material and the spiritual, and made historic contribution to Chinese water and hydropower industry.
